Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are growing in popularity as an alternative to crowns as they are extremely effective at covering damaged or broken teeth to help protect them from any additional damage. People with gaps between their teeth can also use veneers to help widen the teeth and fill in the gaps. They are also used for on teeth that are stained and are unable to be whitened as the veneers will provide a natural tooth color that resists stains. The porcelain veneers look and feel like normal teeth.

Veneers may take at least two appointments to fully be added to teeth. The teeth need to be shaped and roughened before impressions are created as the porcelain needs to be created specifically for each tooth. After the first appointment, the teeth are cleaned and polished before an adhesive is used to bond the veneers to the teeth. This process makes the porcelain veneers part of the teeth and require no other special care other than what is used to clean normal teeth.
