Austin CarShare is a non-profit organization that is planning to launch the first carshare program in Texas. We are proposing a high profile six month pilot program to test service options and ensure that carsharing will be a sustainable, long-term service for Austin.
We plan to launch a pilot program in 2006 with 8 vehicles and 100 members pre-registered by the launch date. The initial service area focus will be on the downtown and University of Texas areas.
We are looking for public and private partners to fund our pilot, sign-up as high profile institutional customers, and promote carsharing to employees, customers, organizational members and the general public.
